Frequently asked questions
How do I copy and paste Greek letters?
Click any letter on this page and it is copied to your clipboard as plain text. Then paste it with Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac). To build a word, tick “add clicks to the text box”, click the letters in order, and press Copy text.
Will the Greek letters work in Word, Google Docs and social media?
Yes. They are standard Unicode characters, supported by every modern operating system, browser, office suite and app. If a letter shows as an empty box, the font you are using lacks Greek — switch to a common font such as Arial, Times New Roman or Calibri.
Why does my pasted μ or Ω not match when I search for it?
You may have pasted a look-alike. The micro sign µ (U+00B5) and the ohm sign Ω (U+2126) look exactly like the Greek letters μ and Ω but are different characters. Copy from the uppercase and lowercase sections above for the true letters.
Can I copy the whole Greek alphabet at once?
Yes — use the buttons in the “Copy the whole alphabet” section to copy all 24 capitals, all lowercase letters (including final ς), or the alphabet with its letter names.
